Swell Echo Desktop - Demo Unit

$29.00

This is a demo unit from the personal collection.

The Swell Echo Desktop is an analog voiced digital delay with a momentary push-button swell feature designed to be an affordable desktop unit for use with keyboards, synthesizers, drum machines, guitar, bass etc.. It’s a great tool to add depth, detail, and dramatic dynamics to your desktop music production setup.

The Swell Echo Desktop is a single circuit-board with all controls, jacks, switches, and components mounted directly to the circuit board.

By removing the enclosure, which is typically the most expensive single component in a pedal/synth build, and also reducing/replacing all the offboard jacks/switches with onboard jacks/switches I was able to build a more affordable desktop echo unit that may be the perfect fit for users who don’t need a heavy duty foot-stompable enclosure.

Swell Echo Desktop - Instructions

Input Jack:  The top right jack is the 1/4” mono input.  Plug your instrument in here.

Output Jack: The top left jack is the 1/4” mono output that outputs the signal you plugged into the input plus whatever amount of delay/echo signal you have added via the mix control.

DC Power:  This is the center jack.  Use a standard 9 Volt - 2.1mm Center-Pin Negative Boss style power supply only.  Use of an incorrect power supply (overvoltage or wrong polarity) will void your warranty. Current draw is approximately 35mA.

TIME: Turn clockwise to increase the length of the delay/echo of your input signal.

RPTS: Turn clockwise to increase the number times the delay/echo of your input signal will repeat. From once to self-oscillation.

SWELL: In conjunction with the momentary push button “hold for swell”, turn this control clockwise to increase the onset time of the delay/echo swelling effect.  Note: This control is interactive with both the TIME and RPTS control. Shorter TIME settings will swell more quickly than longer TIME settings. Higher RPTS settings will swell more quickly than lower RPTS settings.  Adjust to create anything from quick dynamic swells to slow building lo-fi ambience.

MIX: Turn clockwise to increase the amount of delay/echo signal that is blended at the output with your dry analog signal path.  Note: This control is tapered to allow the delay/echo signal to be louder than the input signal if desired.

Care & Handling:  The Swell Echo Desktop is designed to be an indoor desktop device.  It is a single lead-free circuit board. Avoid touching the leads on the bottom of the circuit board, especially when power is applied.  Any non-manufacturer / self-modification to the circuit board will void your warranty.
